Professional Practice Corporations--including those in the field of Podiatry--are governed in North Carolina by Chapter 55B of the NC State Statutes. In order to open, operate or maintain a podiatry practice corporation, the incorporator(s) must first obtain a certificate of registration from the NC Board of Podiatry Examiners prior to making incorporation application to the Office of the Secretary of State. The initial registration fee is $50 and the annual renewal fee is $25 per office location by January 31, after which a $10 late fee is added. The Secretary of State is notified of non-renewing corporations and PLLCs annually.
